Madalyn 'Mimi' Naish, retired social studies teacher
Madalyn "Mimi" Naish, 65, of Williamsville, a retired Williamsville Schools social studies teacher, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007.

Born Madalyn Ott, she received bachelor's and master's degrees from Buffalo State College.

Mrs. Naish taught social studies in the Williamsville Central Schools from 1967 until her retirement in 2001. She taught at East High School where she also served as a team leader, building representative, and was on the school's council of delegates.

Mrs. Naish was a member of the Williamsville Teachers Association, serving as second vice president in charge of negotiations. She was also a member of the executive committee and the negotiations team. She won the Williamsville Teachers Association President's Award twice.

Her family said she enjoyed sewing, traveling, swimming, and playing with her granddaughters.

Mrs. Naish is survived by her husband of 39 years, Al; a son, Eric of Williamsville; a daughter, Joanne Thornton of Syracuse; three sisters, Rosalyn Kinniburgh of White Plains, N.Y., Sally Feness of Depew, and Peggy Ott of St. Jean de Cole, France; a brother, Jerome Ott of Pleasant Mount, Pa.; also survived by two grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Tuesday, Feb. 20 in SS. Peter & Paul Church.

Arrangements were made by Beach-Tuyn Funeral Home.
