Outreach program set at center

Erie County Home Energy Assistance Application Specialists will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 at the Harlem Road Community Center, 4255 Harlem Road, Amherst.

The outreach team will be able to process 80 applications Thursday. Interested citizens are required to register after 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Appointments take approximately 20 minutes, and applicants should bring one form of identification for each member of the household; a birth certificate, social security card or license will suffice. They should bring their utility bill. Also needed is proof of monthly income from all household members received in the last 30 days; pay stubs, social security or pension award letters are acceptable. Also bring current checking and saving accounts bank statements. As well, proof of other resources such as stocks, bonds, IRAs and 401Ks are necessary. For information, call 858-7870.
