Anne V. Stutz, 86, a retired dispatcher for New York Telephone, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, in Harbour Health in Buffalo.
Born Anne Ventura in Buffalo, she attended Hutchinson Technical High School.
She worked 30 years as a dispatcher at New York Telephone, retiring in 1981.
Mrs. Stutz was a parishioner for St. Margaret's Parish and was a member of the church's North Buffalo Rosary Guild. Her family said her favorite way of serving the church was making thousands of rosaries and scapulars which she then donated to local churches and shipped to various missions. She was also a member of the Carmelites Nuns.
She also belonged to the Telephone Company Pioneers.
Mrs. Stutz loved to travel to various countries, including South America, Poland, and Rome, Italy where she met the Pope. She also liked cooking and baking.
Mrs. Stutz is survived by a daughter, Diane Matteliano; a brother, Rev. Mauro Ventura; and two grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, Feb. 12 from Perna-Pellegrino Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial from St. Gregory the Great Church.
