Junior Achievement of WNY, Inc. received $2,000 from the Western Division Federal Credit Union to support JA programs. Both the staff and members of Western Division contributed to this fund throughout 2006 through candy sales. An award was presented to the employees and members of the Western Division Federal Credit Union on Jan. 24 in recognition of their efforts.

The Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation has grants available for schools, school districts and community-based organizations operating schools located in Erie County for the purchase of specialized equipment and/or assistive technology for use by students ages 5-13. The Amherst Symphony Orchestra was a recipient of a 2007 Decentralization Program Grant through the Arts Council in Buffalo & Erie County. The grants are awarded to organizations that provide artistic programs.
