Buffalo City Mission honors Williamsville resident

Robbins
The Buffalo City Mission recently honored Chris Robbins of Williamsville with the "Good Samaritan" award for his outstanding service to the Mission's Cornerstone Manor and Men's Center. Robbins received a plaque recognizing his support and commitment to helping the homeless during a lunch ceremony on Jan. 28 at Cornerstone Manor.

"Chris's generosity to the Mission is a true blessing," said Tom McLaughlin, executive director, Buffalo City Mission. "He has demonstrated selfless compassion to those who need it most. Chris lets his actions speak louder than words."

Robbins is the founder and CEO of Arxcel, a Williamsville-based consultancy that helps companies manage their prescription healthcare costs. Under Robbins' leadership, Arxcel regularly offers financial and volunteer support to the Mission's two shelters. In addition, Robbins has chaired the Mission's annual golf tournament for several years. The tournament raises thousands of dollars to fund programming for women and children.

In addition to supporting the Buffalo City Mission, Robbins volunteers his time with Buffalo-area Junior Achievement students, teaching them to always include philanthropy as part of their business philosophy. He also donates hundreds of hours of service to many local non-profit agencies, including the Make-a-Wish Foundation, The Boy Scouts of America, Hospice, and West Seneca Christian Schools.
