Lenten lecture series set

Catholic parishes in the northern suburbs will sponsor the annual Lenten Lecture Series at 7:30 p.m. the first five Mondays of Lent. The theme is "Understanding the Beatitudes in Today's World."

Monday, Feb. 26 - "Blessed are the clean of heart for they shall see God" will be discussed at St. John the Baptist Church, 1085 Englewood, Kenmore and led by The Rev. Ron Sadjak. For information, call 873-1122.

Monday, March 5 - "Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall by comforted" will be explained by The Rev. John Mack at St. Edmund Church, 530 Ellicott Creek Road, Tonawanda. For information, call 694-5656.

Monday, March 12 - "Blessed are the persecuted, for theirs is the Kingdom of God" will be explained by The Rev. Joseph Gatto of Nativity Church, 8500 Main St., Clarence. Call 632-8838.

Monday, March 19 - "Blessed are they who hunger for righteousness" will be explored by The Rev. Peter Drilling of Christ the King Church, at Main Street and Lamarck Drive, Snyder. Call 839-1430.

Monday, March 26 - "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they are children of God" will be discussed with The Rev. Ray Corbin at St. Aloysius Church, 157 Cleveland Drive, Cheektowaga. Call 833-1715.
