Benefit for pool safety seeks donations

Lexi's Legacy, a benefit in honor of 2-year-old Alexis Marie Scalzi, who passed away in 2006, will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 15 at Samuel's Grande Manor, 8750 Main St., Clarence.

The event will focus on pool safety awareness and raise money to purchase pool alarms for the community. Currently, the Scalzi family is looking for donations for the benefit from businesses, organizations and individuals. Donations can be monetary or items for the Chinese auction.

The cost to attend the event is $20 and will include unlimited food and nonalcoholic drinks. Children 10 and under are free. Lexi's Legacy will also have a cash bar, music by Audio Frequencies, door prizes, raffles and a clown.

Lexi, born on April 24, 2004, died after falling into an in-ground swimming pool.
