Couple celebrates 65 years on Valentine's Day

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hirsch

Ruth and Carl Hirsch of Williamsville celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a family celebration at Brennan's Restaurant in Williamsville.

Carl Hirsch married the former Ruth Metzler on Feb. 14, 1942 at St. Patrick Church in Java Center, N. Y.

He is a retired truck driver with ABC Paving and the last surviving founder of the Main Transit Fire Hall. They are members of SS. Peter and Paul Church in Williamsville.

The couple has three children, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
