Couple marry in Connecticut ceremony

Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey D. Batt
Cristina Freyre married Jeffrey D. Batt in an afternoon ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006 at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Greenwich, Conn. The Rev. Michael Moynihan officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Nancy N. and Eneas P. Freyre of Greenwich. The groom is the son of Michele P. and Paul V. Batt of Amherst.

The bride was escorted by her father.

She wore a full-length strapless gown with a pleated bodice and a chapel-length train. She also wore a cascading, cathedral length veil and carried roses, lilies and herbs.

The maid of honor was Sara L. Samuels, friend of the bride. The bridesmaids were Alexandra Mejer, Silvia Tomai and Magdalena Hill, cousins of the bride; Nancy L. Freyre, sister-in-law of the bride; and Joanna Batt, sister of the groom. The junior bridesmaids were Grace Freyre and Mariana Duque, cousins of the bride.

The best man was Matthew J. Batt, brother of the groom. The ushers were Eneas Freyre, brother of the bride; Steven Tryon, Adam Oppenheimer, Brian Pawlaski, Julian Baer, Joseph Belingeri and Raymond Ash, friends of the groom. The ring bearer was Christopher Nelson, cousin of the bride.

A reception was held at the Tomes-Higgins House in Greenwich.

After a honeymoon to Sonoma and Napa Valley, Calif., the couple is at home in Washington, D.C.
