.When will Amherst Supervisor Satish Mohan finally finish the budget for this year and when will he publish it so taxpayers who depend on him will understand just how big of a tax increase they are being subjected to?

.A review of job performance is the criteria for getting a pay raise in the private sector and should be utilized in the public sector as well. Those who perform well should be rewarded with better pay raises than those who are not doing as well as they should. That's the problem with union workers; the good and the bad are rewarded equally. There should be a higher and low wage scale in union contracts. Too bad Satish Mohan can't give a job performance rating on town board members.

.I just read that because of Monday's snow day, the Williamsville School Board is subtracting a third day from the April spring break. I would guess that a majority of Williamsville school families made vacation plans well in advance and don't plan on changing them whether school is in session or not. I am confused, however, as to why at least one of these days was not subtracted from the February break. Would someone care to address this?

.I believe Town of Amherst residents, along with Village of Williamsville residents, deserve to have their sidewalks plowed. All they have to do is buy 20 tractors with plows and assign them to the snowplow districts.

.I cannot believe that Town of Amherst department heads do not receive evaluations. Saying that there is no recourse is ridiculous! These people should have evaluations annually; they should have goals and expectations set. There should be challenges for them, and if these challenges are not met, it would be the beginning of the end of that employee. It's also mind-boggling to believe there is nothing to track sick and holiday time for these people.

.The Williamsville School bus drivers were deeply saddened to learn that their assistant supervisor had resigned. It was evident early on that he was a great asset to our department. We will miss him, but we wish him all the best.

.It is interesting to read about the proposal for the Main Street traffic pattern. I have lived in the village for 75 years, and even in the old days, never saw a great number of bicycle riders. They are now considering having a space for bicycles. I was under the impression the young people were bused to school and anyone over 16 gets a license to drive, so I don't think we need to lose more pavement for bicycles.

.Why is it the Town of Amherst doesn't require elected officials to attend a management school, in other words, how to be a boss?
