Amherst Central's varsity boys swimming concluded its 2006-07 regular season on a five-game win streak, including wins last week over Depew (63-31) and Alden (104.5-66.5).

Strong swims and several personal best times were performed by Ryan Menasco (first, 50 free, 200 free), Paul Timmel (first, 500 free, 200 IM, 100 fly), Jacob Hofmar-Glennon (first, 100 back, 500 free), Harrison Singer (first, 100 free, second, 200 free), Nathan Chau (first, 100 fly second, 100 back), Ian Blochwitz (second, 100 free, 50 free), Ian Johnson (third, 50 free, 100 back), Stephen Arlington (third, 100 breast) and Allen Dengler (second, 100 fly).

The Sweet Home boys swimming team won three meets this year, beating West Seneca West (106-56), Jamestown (91-75) and Frontier (59-39).

Freshman Connor Hoffman, sophomores John Wolf, Collin Sabers, and Ryan Gilinger and seniors Yan Yatsynovich and Derek Mittlefehldt have qualified for ECICs on Feb. 16-17 at Clarence High School.
