Canisius High School seniors Patrick Fernbach (Transit Middle School), Jeff Todd (Hoover Middle School) and James Thompson will row for Columbia University, Northeastern University and Cornell University, respectively, next year.

The St. Gregory the Great Cougars eighth grade girls basketball team is 12-3 this season.

The Cougars rolled over Nichols, 40-24. They also defeated Christ the King, 22-21, and St. Mark's, 44-13. Krissy Russo was the leading scorer in the Nichols game with 14 points and Emily Tevens had 12.

Courtney McEachon, Kristen Przybyla and Maggie Kreuz had a combined four steals and three assists while Tori Krantz scored 12 points in a very defensive game against Christ the King. Caroline Niederpreum scored six points against St. Mark's, and teammates Margaret Christ, Claire Dirrigl and Rheanna O'Connor combined for 10 points.
