Women voters initiates immigration study

Immigration attorney Diane LaVallee will address the League of Women Voters of Buffalo/Niagara and guests at noon Friday, Feb. 16 at Scotch and Sirloin Restaurant, 6999 Maple Road, Amherst.

Last June, League members from across the county adopted "Immigration" - its history, its economic and social impact, and the laws pertaining to it - as a topic for study, with the intention of reaching consensus on guidelines to reform national policy.

This meeting represents the local chapter's kickoff of its two-year study, during which a committee will read, interview and make firsthand observations, reporting its data and conclusions to the larger group.

Interested persons are invited to attend this public meeting. To make reservations for the luncheon, which will cost $13, call Clarine Radt at 633-7069.
