High-flying drama

Solo aerial performer and Buffalo native Mara Neimanis will explore the mystery of Amelia Earhart in "Air Heart," from Feb. 8 through 17 at the Alleyway Theatre, Buffalo.
Produced by Theatre Plus and directed by Bryce Butler, Neimanis will be center stage - actually above center stage on a 12-foot tall spinning steel plane sculpture.
In 1937, Earhart disappeared in the midst of the most dangerous flight of her career. The legendary aviatrix comes to life in this one-woman aerial theatre performance that combines circus arts with drama to explore Earhart's whirlwind life and final flight. Neimanis reaches for the heart of this 70-year-old mystery in an athletic performance.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, and 4 and 8 p.m. Saturdays at 1 Curtain Up Alley, Buffalo.
Tickets are $24 general, $12 for students, and are available online at www.alleyway.com, at the box office 45 minutes before each performance or by phone at 852-2600, Ext. 0.
