Financial Women International to host fund-raiser

The members of the Western New York Group of Financial Women International will host the 21st annual fund-raiser and special event to benefit Compass House, WHYME House Foundation and the FWI Scholarship Fund. This year's "Coming Together for WNY" fund-raiser will be held at the Ironworkers Hall, 196 Orchard Park Road, West Seneca from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10. Tickets cost $20 ($25 at the door), and there will be both a Chinese auction and a live auction featuring Sandy Beach as the auctioneer. Music will be supplied by the Stone Bridge Band, and the price of admission includes a buffet, beer, pop and a chance to win a $500 cash door prize. Landlord workshop now available

The Community Preservation Corporation and Rochester Housing Council are jointly sponsoring a free six-session program on the fundamentals of operating rental property in Erie County. The program will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on consecutive Tuesdays from Feb. 6 to March 13 at Daemen College, 4380 Main St., in Amherst. Topics discussed will range from rental applications and the screening process to acquisition and financing basics. Each of the classes covers a different aspect of operating rental property. Apartment Council plans manager program

The National Apartment Association has approved the Apartment Council of Western New York to conduct the Certified Apartment Manager program. The program will take place from 5:45 to 9:45 p.m. on the next 10 Tuesdays. For more information or to participate, call 633-0959.
