The National Society of Agents for Consumer Education has named Amherst insurance professional Mark S. Fitzgerald as a charter member. The appointment recognizes his commitment to providing quality insurance education to his clients. Fitzgerald is a partner/producer with Fitzgerald EiMiller Walsh Ltd.

The Independent Insurance Agents Association of Western New York will present a seminar on "How to Promote Your Business in Western New York," at noon Thursday, Feb. 15 at Marinaccio's, 5877 Main St., Williamsville. Jeanne Orton of Williamsville was certified as a transitions lifestyle coach after completing a training program led by Shari Lieberman, Ph.D. Orton was taught to understand the body chemistry as it relates to food and weight loss through a variety of scientific behavioral journals and other studies. As a coach, she will be able to coach others to effectively lose weight through both a scientific and psychological approach.
