Pee Wee White Sabres keep win streak alive

Sean Martin recorded his first shutout of the season as the Pee Wee White Sabres beat the Red Sabres, 6-0, on Saturday night.

The Red Sabres certainly had their chances, as their standout forward, Matt Berke, took the puck down the ice numerous times. Each time though, Martin made spectacular saves and kept the shutout intact.

The White Sabres were on fire the entire game. The White Sabre team's domination started in the first period with Nicholas Carrubba scoring off a pretty pass from Dylan Scinta. Standout performances were given by Angelo

Caruso, Max Fenter, Gabe Feuerstein and Max Sherman as the White Sabres owned the ice. The scoring continued as Scinta scored the next two goals, unassisted.

Defenseman Kyle Zurak scored the next goal, with the assist to Scinta. Scinta then scored again with the assist from Zurak. Scinta scored his fourth of the game, bringing his season total to 42.

Blake Carson, Tyler Casselman, Dominic Cinelli, and Dan Demeester played another outstanding game for the White Sabres. Brendan Mazurek, John Moore, and Adam Russell hustled throughout the game and preserved the shutout for Martin.

Coach Carrubba awarded his team stars to Martin, Scinta, and one star to the entire team.

The White Sabres are unbeaten going into the Friendship Tournament next weekend.

White Sabres 5, Red Wings 3

The Pee Wee White Sabres defeated the Red Wings, 5-3, in an exciting game on Jan. 20 to remain unbeaten.

The Red Wings came out flying and Jonathan Hayman scored the first goal of the game early in the first period. The White Sabres' defense was challenged throughout the game but they stepped up to the task.

Dylan Scinta scored his first of four goals at the three-minute mark, tying the game at 1-1. The White Sabres' Danny Demeester made it 2-1 with the assist from Brendan Mazurek.

The entire White Sabres' team was focused as the Red Wings came screaming back in the second. Hayman scored his second of the game and tied it at 2-2. Kyle Zurak, Gabe Feuerstein, Tyler Casselman, Adam Moore and Mazurek were a force on defense for the White Sabres.

Scinta answered back for the White Sabres with two more goals in the second period, one unassisted and the other assisted from Nick Carrubba, as they took the lead for good, 4-2.

It was a hard fought win as the Red Wings played hard and tough. Jake Griebner was great in goal for the Wings. The White Sabres' Dominic Cinelli, Carson Blake, Michael Steinig, John Moore and Max Sherman dug and worked as the game wore on.

Scinta scored his fourth of the game in the third period and at the four-minute mark, the Wings' Kevin Annese answered back, but it wasn't enough as the White Sabres continued its unbeaten record.

Sean Martin was, once again, spectacular in net for the White Sabres.

Pee Wee Flyers' offense

explodes on Sharks

The Pee Wee Flyers had its strongest offensive showing of the season in a 10-4 defeat of the Sharks on Sunday.

Mitch Yoder led the way for the Flyers with five points (three goals, two assists) as well as Lauton Rushford, who had four points (two goals, two assists). Stephen Soos, Dan Schlein (goal, assist), Richie Hunter (goal, two assists), and Joe Bengart (goal, assist) also scored for the Flyers.

The Sharks fought hard with great efforts and goals by Mitch Miller and Joe Michotek, but the Flyers' offensive pressure was too much to handle.

The Flyers also got a solid game from Alex Cleeland, Casey Willer, and Dan Battaglia, who all had assists.

Both teams are off until the weekend when they travel to Burlington for the February portion of the Friendship tournament.
