James R. Thuman, owner, mechanic
James R. Thuman, 74, of Pendleton, owner and mechanic of Jim Thuman, Inc. in Getzville, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, in Kenmore Mercy Hospital.

Thuman
Born in East Amherst, he served in the Army in Korea as a Tech Sergeant and mechanic. He won a Korean Service Medal with one bronze star, a Presidential Unit Citation and a National Defense Medal.

In 1976, Mr. Thuman opened Jim Thuman Inc. on Campbell Blvd. and worked until 1988. He retired as owner in 1994.

He was a member of the VFW and St. Pius X Church.

Mr. Thuman is survived by his wife, Dorothy M.; two daughters, Paula Rehwaldt and Katherine La- Port, both of Lockport; a son, Robert of Lockport; three sisters, Alice Guenther of Pendleton and Evelyn Brodfuehrer and Arlene McKenzie, both of North Tonawanda; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Jan. 22 in St. Pius X Church.

Arrangements were made by Beach-Tuyn Funeral Home.
