Victorian Valentine's Day planned at Amherst Museum

For families looking for a way to celebrate Valentine's Day, the Amherst Museum has a special event.

On Feb. 10 a Victorian Valentine's Day will be held at the museum. The Hutchinson Family Revival will perform a special concert of 19th century love songs and romantic music. This group of costumed singers reproduces authentic Victorian songs originally performed by a group of traveling musicians in the mid-19th century.

The Amherst Museum Victorian Dance Society will demonstrate and teach Victorian dance and manners. In addition, children can try their hand at making Valentines in the Victorian style, learn about the history of chocolate, candy making and enjoy Amherst Museum's current exhibits. A selection of vintage candy boxes will be exhibited during the event. Refreshments will be served.

Admission is $5 for adults, $1.50 for children and free for museum members. Admission includes all open museum exhibits.

The Museum is located at 3755 Tonawanda Creek Road.
