Bride designs own gown

Kimberly Ann Salsbury married Nicholas Janiga in a morning ceremony on Oct. 14, 2006 at Saint Joan of Arc Church in Hamden, Conn. The Rev. Daniel G. Keefe officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Ann and Merrill Salsbury of Hamden. The groom is the son of Mary Ann and William Janiga of Lancaster.
The bride was escorted by her father.
She wore a gown that she designed and created herself. It was a strapless white silk taffeta with ruching on the bodice. The A-line skirt was pleated in the back with a 3-foot train. She wore a cathedral length veil edged with white lace and carried red calla lilies.
The matron of honor was Ann Salsbury, mother of the bride. The maid of honor was Lisabeth Pardi, friend of the bride. The bridesmaids were Lauren, Jillian and Erika Salsbury, sisters of the bride.
The best man was Matthew Janiga, brother of the groom. The ushers were Christopher, Joseph and Ryan Salsbury, brothers of the bride; and Daniel Wiegand, friend of the groom.
A reception was held at Cascade in Hamden.
After a honeymoon to Florence and Rome, the couple reside in Washington, D.C.
