.Satish Mohan should post on the Internet the verbatim text of his State of the Town speech. If one is to believe the news accounts of the speech, it would appear that Mohan has abandoned his concrete action promises that he gave during his campaign for supervisor and is now down to a wish list. That being said, he should know that there are people listening to what he says, and we all know he is almost always wrong on the facts.

.We're wondering whose idea it was to have Shelly Schratz sitting next to Satish Mohan? Ask her to be more professional and stop writing on her paper and whispering in his ear. It's very unprofessional and needs to stop, or move her down.

.With all the gloom and problems the town has, if you really want to listen to something funny, listen to the town board meetings when they are on the cable channel. It's just a joke!

.Dr. Mohan, let's start reading and answering letters to the school districts. Three school districts wrote to you on Nov. 10 and again on Jan. 10 about how you are reducing the equalization rate below 100 percent. This is outrageous! You are costing us money right now. Our taxes have gone up 8 percent, but yet you promised to give us a break at 15 percent.

.I'd like to voice my opinion regarding the school districts in Amherst. We're reading about the tax increases on the school taxes and assessments. We need to merge the three districts into one. We have separate administrators and superintendents for all three districts. All we really need is one school district for the entire town. It makes good sense to have one school district.

.Last week's editorial on the closing of 14 Catholic elementary schools reported that they cost about $4,000 to educate a student. At the same time, these Catholic parents are paying high school taxes to educate their neighbors' children at $10,000 to $12,000 or more per student. Wouldn't it make sense to allow some portion of a parents' taxes to be used for their own children in these low-cost, state-approved schools, or do we just wait until they all close and freedom of choice is gone?
