Schools set open houses Kadimah School of Buffalo 1085 Eggert Road Kadimah School of Buffalo, located at 1085 Eggert Road in Amherst, will host an open house at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14. "The school and staff welcome families who are interested in providing children, ages 18 months through eighth grade, with a high-level dual-track education that will prepare them for success in high school, college and beyond," Jill Mazzola, director of admissions, said. "Visitors will have the opportunity to meet Kadimah's talented and experienced teachers and tour the brand new, state-of-the-art building." Kadimah School is not affiliated with a single denomination or movement within Judaism. The school is accredited by the New York State Department of Education and receives top ranking among private schools in the Buffalo area. Christian Central Academy 39 Academy St. Christian Central Academy invites prospective parents and students to attend the spring open house from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13 at the school, 39 Academy St. The open house includes student-led campus tours, interaction with faculty and staff, testimonials and a question/answer forum. Refreshments will follow. The goal is to help guests make enrollment plans for their children. Reservations are not needed. CCA has approximately 400 students from 30 school districts. Temple Beth Zion 700 Sweet Home Road The Play and Learn School of Temple Beth Zion will hold an open house for prospective students and their parents at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4 in the Aaron and Bertha Broder Center for Jewish Education, 700 Sweet Home Road. Attendees will meet with the director of education and head teachers and tour the school. Registration for the 2007-08 school year will open for 2- through 4-year-olds. The school's goal is to "enhance the emotional, social, physical and cognitive growth while respecting (students') unique qualities." The school plans to expand its program to include a pre-K class for older 4-year-olds and younger 5-year-olds or those children who miss the birthday cutoff date for entrance into public kindergarten. Beginning in September 2007, this class will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday with a class size of 12. For more information, call 836-6565. Park School of Buffalo 4635 Harlem Road The Park School of Buffalo will host an open house for prospective families interested in early education through grade 12. The open house begins at 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, at the school, 4625 Harlem Road in Snyder. Included is an overview of the school and its educational programs presented by Don Grace, head of school. Campus and classroom tours will follow. Parents will have a chance to question teachers, students and parents. The Park School of Buffalo, founded in 1912, is a college-preparatory, coeducational, independent school for students from age 3 through grade 12. Financial aid is available.
