Community Preservation Corp. and Rochester Housing Council are sponsoring a free six-session program on the "Fundaments of operating rental property in Erie County." The seminars are held Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. from Feb. 6 to March 13 at Daemen College, 4380 Main St., Amherst. Homewood Suites Buffalo/ Amherst was presented with GEICO's Partnership Excellence Award on Jan. 11. The award recognizes those individuals and groups who, through partnerships with GEICO, demonstrate their dedication, customer focus and fanatical service. Nationally, there are only two award winners selected each year. Homewood Suites is located at 1138 Millersport Highway.

Buffalo/Amherst Business and Professional Women will hold its monthly dinner meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8 at the Fairdale Restaurant, 672 Wehrle Drive. The speaker is cardiologist Dr. Joanne Cobler, director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at Buffalo Cardiology and Pulmonary Associates, P.C.
