Stumpf's Level 6 takes second at meet

The Level 6 team from Stumpf's Gymnastics Center earned second-place team honors and was the highest-ranking team from New York State at the Graffiti Invitational Meet recently held at the Niagara Falls Conference Center. They placed four girls on the all-around podium and several in the event finals. The Level 6 team from Stumpf's Gymnastics Center gave a strong performance at the Graffiti Invitational Meet recently held at the Niagara Falls Conference Center.

The squad earned second-place team honors and was the highest-ranking team from New York State. The girls competed against seven other teams and 93 total gymnasts. They also placed four girls on the all-around podium and several in the event finals.

The team was led by Lilly Kamara, who earned a spectacular 37.200 all-around and placed second in the 10-11-year-old division. Kamara was also second on floor exercise and uneven bars, third on vault and 11th on balance beam. Shannon Martinsen earned fifth place all-around and was third on floor and fourth on vault. A 9.500 on beam, which earned second place, highlighted Martinsen's performance.

Amber Moser earned a 12th-place ribbon in the all-around as well as finishing sixth on uneven bars and 10th on vault. Taylor Blaser had her best performance of the year, earning a 34.075 all-around score. Teammate Michaela Stumpf had a strong performance on uneven bars, earning an 8.125. She was ranked in the top 50 percent of all gymnasts.

The 12-and-over division boasted a strong performance from Callie Flanagan of Lancaster, who was sixth all-around with a solid 36.275. Flanagan was eighth on uneven bars and second on floor. Flanagan's team-high 9.600 on beam was also awarded second place. Teammate Kristen Kelly had a 16th-place finish on floor, and Ashley Materise scored in the top 25 on uneven bars.
