Stumpf boys dominate Nickel City invite

The boys teams from Stumpf's Gymnastics Center excelled at the Nickel City Invitational meet hosted by Gymnastics Unlimited. The boys teams from Stumpf's Gymnastics Center competed at the Nickel City Invitational meet hosted by Gymnastics Unlimited.

The event included seven gyms and about 100 gymnasts. Each Stumpf's level excelled, with three levels earning first place and the other two earning second-place team honors. Additionally, the teams produced five all-around champions.

The Level 4 team fared very well in the 6-7-year-old division. Hunter Sullivan was named all-around champion. Sullivan was also pommel horse champion with an 8.90, second on floor exercise and high bar, and third on vault.

Anthony Gallo earned third-place all-around and on pommel horse. Additionally, Gallo was the floor exercise and vault champion. Trey Buscaglia was fifth all-around and on floor. He was also second on vault, third on parallel bars and fourth on high bar. Elliot Gengo was seventh in all-around. Gengo's performance was highlighted by a 9.10 rings routine that earned first place. Joshua Reinstein was eighth all-around and fourth on pommel horse, and Blake Lang earned ninth overall.

Zack Palmerton was third in the 8-9 division with a team-high 55.40. He was also second on rings and high bar, and vault champion with a stunning 9.80. Andrew Searns was sixth all-around, fourth on rings and second on parallel bars with a team-high 9.30. Brandon Colley earned seventh place all-around and was second on vault with a solid 9.70. Mitch Perlstein was eighth in the all-around and sixth on parallel bars with a 9.10.

Austin Martin competed in the 10-11-year-old division and was awarded third place overall. Martin was second on floor and rings and crowned champion of pommel horse and vault.

The Level 4 team was awarded second place in the team competition.

The first-place Level 5 team was led by Joshua Menegaux, who scored a team-high 55.75 and earned first place in the 7-9 division. Menegaux was also champion of the pommel horse and rings and awarded second on parallel bars and high bar. He was third on floor and vault. Spencer Henley earned third all-around and was vault champion with a 9.60. Henley was second on floor, pommel horse, and rings and third on parallel bars and high bar as well. Nicholas Rey earned third place on vault on his way to placing fourth all-around. He was also fourth on floor, pommel horse, rings and high bar.

Griffin Ingerson was fifth all-around. Ingerson's best finish came on the vault, where he earned a 9.40 and placed third. Dylan Arena was seventh all-around with a pair of sixth-place finishes on floor and vault and a fourth-place routine on parallel bars.

Bram Houston was the pommel horse and high bar champion for the 10-11-year-olds. Additionally, Houston placed second in the all-around and floor.

Matthew Salvati was fourth all-around, was second on pommel horse and was parallel bars champion with a 9.40. Luke Penner finished ninth overall and earned third on vault with an impressive 9.60.

The first-place Level 6 team produced two all-around champions. Mack Lasker, competing in the 7-9 division, earned a 53.00 all-around. He was also first on floor, rings, vault, parallel bars and high bar. Lasker was second on pommel horse.

Noah Roberson was champion of the 10-11-year-old group with a 54.35, and he was first on floor, rings, vault and high bar. Roberson was second on pommel horse and third on parallel bars. Teammate Seth Messer was fifth all-around and second on vault with a 9.30.

Brian Sheppard of the 12-and-over division placed third all-around, as well as on floor and pommel horse. Sheppard was second on parallel bars and high bar and champion of the vault with a 9.20.

The Level 8 team earned second place honors and produced the 12-14-year-old all-around champion.

iAdam Cole was first all-around, as well as on vault and parallel bars. Cole was also second on floor, rings and high bar. Cameron Collins was second all-around and was crowned champion of floor and pommel horse.

Additionally, Collins was second on vault and parallel bars and third on rings. Teammate Joey Lysen was fourth overall and tied with Collins for second on vault.

The solid Level 9 team won first-place team honors and stacked the all-around podium.

First place went to Aaron Benson, who scored a 50.40 on his way to sweeping the event finals. In second place was Jon Zirna, who was also second on floor, pommel horse, vault and parallel bars. Michael Wozniak was third all-around as well as on vault. Wozniak also earned second on rings and high bar. Nathaniel Roberson was fourth overall, third on pommel horse and vault, and second on floor with an 8.30. Adam Arena was fifth all-around, third on parallel bars and tied Roberson and Wozniak for third place on vault.

A slightly injured Cody Stumpf competed only on high bar and rings, where he was fourth and seventh, respectively.

Jimmy Pezzino, Stumpf's only competitor in Level 10, earned third place all-around as well as on floor. Additionally, Pezzino placed second on pommel horse and parallel bars.
