and school librarian for approximately 10 years at St. Gregory the Great School, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, in her Williamsville home.
Born Maureen Francis, she grew up in Batavia, attending elementary
school at St. Mary's and high school at Notre Dame. She received a bachelor's degree from St. Bonaventure University and a master's in library science from Geneseo State College.
She belonged to St. Greg's parish.
Mrs. Zambon lived in Italy in the 1970s and once had lunch at the White House Mess and watched fireworks from the South Lawn. She was a loyal Buffalo Sabres, Boston Red Sox and Buffalo Bills fan, even once attending the Super Bowl.
She loved children's books, libraries, shopping, quilts, and Cape Cod.
Mrs. Zambon is survived by her husband of 35 years, Dr. Joseph J. Zambon, D.D.S., Ph.D; three daughters, Sarah, Margaret and Katherine; a son, Brendan; two sisters, Sue Graney of Webster, N.Y. and Judy Thrasher of Batavia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 25 from St. Gregory the Great Church, 250 Saint Gregory Court.
