Man pleads guilty to vehicular manslaughter

A Williamsville man pleaded guilty on Monday to charges related to the death of a 43-year-old woman in August.

The charges against Robert Endler, 29, involved vehicular manslaughter in the second degree and driving while impaired by drugs. He pleaded guilty before Erie County Court Judge Shirley Troutman.

Endler admitted to driving under the influence of drugs and colliding with a vehicle operated by Tina McCarthy of Buffalo, causing her death. The collision took place at Eggert Road and Niagara Falls Boulevard on Aug. 15, 2006.

Two other drivers in separate cars were injured in the accident, including Ms. McCarthy's boyfriend.

All three vehicles were stopped at a red light at the corner of Eggert Road and Niagara Falls Boulevard when Endler struck Ms. Mc- Carthy's car, which started the chain reaction.

Endler faces a maximum of seven years in prison when sentenced on April 11. The court set bail at $15,000.
