Williamsville Alumni Wall of Fame nominations accepted through March 31

The Williamsville Central School District is seeking nominations to its Alumni Wall of Fame, with induction to take place in the fall of 2007. This distinguished award honors the outstanding achievements and contributions of graduates from the three Williamsville high schools - East, North and South - as well as the original Williamsville High School that dates back to 1923. The deadline for nominations is March 31, 2007.

A candidate must be a graduate of at least ten years. Nomination forms are available in the main office of each high school, at the district office and online at www.williamsvillek12.org. Each high school will convene a selection committee composed of staff, students and community representatives to decide on the honorees from the individual school's pool of candidates.

Since the inception of the Wall of Fame in 2000, 38 alumni have been inducted, including such national luminaries as author Joyce Carol Oates (South 1956), actress/comedienne Wendie Malick (South 1968), ABC News Correspondent David Wright (East 1982), and United States Navy Submarine Commander Paul Povlock (North 1980).

The Williamsville Education Foundation, Inc. sponsors the Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and each high school honors its distinguished alumni in a special assembly designed to inspire today's students. For more information, call the Community Information Office at 626-8008.
