+ The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Volunteer Foundation, formerly BPO Women's Committee, and the Buffalo Chamber Music Society have combined their application and audition process for their independent 2007 scholarships. The Volunteer Foundation "Eleanor V. Millonzi" $5,000 and $1,000 scholarships, partially funded by the Ralph C. Wilson Foundation, and the Chamber Music Society's "Silverman" $1,000 scholarships (up to three this year) are available for Erie and Niagara County high school seniors planning to major in music at any college or university in the fall of 2007. Applications for this year, including audition tapes, must be postmarked by Feb. 1. + The Western New York Chorale, which specializes in Early Music, is holding voice auditions for new singers, especially tenors. The audition includes only an ear, vocal and basic music reading test. A prepared piece is not required. Auditions are held on Tuesday evenings at the Amherst Community Church, 77 Washington Highway, Snyder. + The Genesee-Orleans Regional Arts Council (aka GO ART!) is extending its deadline to submit nominations for its seventh annual Community Arts Awards Gala, to be held Saturday, April 21, at the Stuart Steiner Theatre and the William Stuart Forum at Genesee Community College, Batavia. Nominations will be accepted through Jan. 31. There is an Individual Award, a Cultural Organization Award, Artist Award and Business/Foundation Award. Nominations must be received by GO ART!, 201 E. + Special discounted tickets are now available through Junior Achievement for The Harlem Globetrotters, 7 p.m. Feb. 9, HSBC Arena, Buffalo. Tickets are $20 (regular tickets are $27.50).
