Seven girl and four boy soccer players from Christian Central Academy were named Independent Athletic Conference all-stars.
CCA girls recognized as all-stars were senior Jenni Albrecht, junior Ashley Tom, sophomore Laura Albrecht and freshman Faye-Lynn Noel. Juniors Katie Smith, Amie Stuitje, and Sarah Wade were honorable mention.
Tom, a forward, led the IAC champions with nine goals and seven assists. Tom acted as a leader throughout the season, said CCA coach Joe Karnath.
For the last two seasons, Jenni Albrecht played goalie but switched early in the season to midfield and stopper to help beef up the team in the middle, said Karnath.
"Jenni will really be missed next year," said Karnath. "She has been a real strength on the team the past three years."
Jenni's younger sister, Laura, was the real backbone of enthusiasm and drive of the team, Karnath said.
"Laura was the spark plug that never quit and always gave 110 percent," he said.
Noel, although only a freshman, helped control the midfield for the team and was the second highest scorer with eight goals and four assists. Noel scored the only goal in the championship game against West Seneca Christian.
Smith was the team's third highest scorer with five goals and seven assists, and Stuitje and Wade made the defense strong and kept the goals against average under two per game.
On the boys team, seniors Josiah Blueye and Khaled Morad were named all-stars.
Morad was the team's third highest scorer and Blueye was outstanding on defense. Both Blueye and Morad were strong leaders for the team, on and off the field.
Josiah and Khaled proved to be real assets and the rest of the team always looked to them for leadership and positive example," said CCA boys coach Alan Wandowski.
Senior Aaron Von Schoonhoven and junior Kurt Froese were honorable mention.
Froese was the team's high scorer with eight goals and three assists. Von Schoonhoven was second with six goals and three assists.
