Spartans too much for Flames

Despite double winning performances by Kane Hsieh and Matt Geiger, Williamsville East dropped a 60-42 boys swimming meet at Williamsville North on Friday.

Hsieh won the 200 IM (218.70) and a personal best in the 100 breast (104.33). Geiger, a former Spartan, won the 100 butterfly (55.99) and 100 back (55.22). Geiger and Hsieh joined Neil Batta and Munroe on East's winning 200 meter relay team.

Brandon Beckinghausen (200 free, 150.34; 500 free, 513.81) and Chris Deptula (50 free, 22.98; 100 free, 50.79) were double winners for North.

East opened the week with a 112-60 win over Jamestown last Tuesday at Transit Middle School.

Thomas Mitchell (200 free, 205.97; 500 free, 543.40) and Geiger (100 free, 51.70; 50 free, 24.08) were double winners for East. Joe O'Gorman won diving with a personal best score of 181.05. Arjun Pravin (100 back) and Mike Anderson (200 IM, 215.50) also won for the Flames.

East (2-4) swims Frontier at 6 p.m. on Wednesday and at 4:30 p.m. on Friday against West Seneca West.
