Bruins hard work pays off in 5-3 win over Sharks The game held Dec. 31 between the Bruins and the Sharks on Rink 2 of the Amherst Pepsi Center was all the excitement one could hope for in a hockey game. The Bruins won 5-3. Three unanswered goals were scored by the Sharks, two by Jeff Terragnoli and another by Nick Peters. Assists were made by Nick Bucello, Nick Vermilye, and Colin Lawrence. Alex Bender was sharp in net with help from Jacob Mogerman, Brendan Quagliana. Great efforts were made by Ben Wald, Chris Horton, Cam Czora, Joe Kramer, Girard Marotto, and Tim Kreuz. Like a burst of lightning, the Bruins' Peter Muffoletto scored an unassisted goal to make the score 3-1 Sharks. The Bruins battled hard and played as a team and at 1:09 of the second, Tommy Heyden scored the Bruins' second goal on two sweet passes from Stevie Vukelic and Frankie Bodami. Ricky Bruno tied the game unassisted at the 10:26 point of the third period. Both the Bruins and the Sharks fought hard for the go-ahead goal. But at 4:41 of the third, it was the Bruins' Adam Arsenault who rang the bell on an awesome pass from Bruno. Jeremy Schwab played super in goal, blocking everything in his path. Bill Christ, Luke Rehbaum and Joe Durkin were Steller on defense. Tyler Lisicki, Sarah Scolnick, Drew Goss and Matt Lesinski assisted at all turns of the puck and were a great part of this team effort. Capping this Bruins 5-3 victory was an unassisted breakaway goal by Muffoletto which helped earn him the game's No. 1 star. |
