Gleason's Gymnastics
Amherst residents excel at invite

The Niagara Gymnastics Level 8 team from Gleason's Gymnastics drew high scores at the Graffiti Invitational meet held at the Niagara Falls Convention Center on Jan. 12.

Jamie Farrell, a senior at Sweet Home High School, placed on all four events, earning fifth place on floor exercise (9.15), sixth on balance beam (8.675), 11th on vault and 12th on bars. Farrell placed 11th all-around in the 15-and-up division. Lily Jagodzinki, of Getzville, competed in the 8-11 division and earned her high score on floor (8.925). Their team captured second place in the team competition.

For the Level 7 team, Jill Daddario, a sixth grader at Sweet Home Middle School, had a great performance at this very competitive meet. She placed fourth all-around with a 36.645. She was fifth on vault (9.225), sixth on beam (9.25), ninth on floor (9.275), and 10th on bars (8.9). The Level 7 team received second place in the team awards.

For the Level 4 team, Meghan Aronica and Abby DeCicco, both of Amherst, had very good showing. Aronica, a fifth grader at Willow Ridge Elementary, competed in the 11-and-up division. She performed a strong floor routine, earning a 8.925, and was outstanding on the bars with a 9.375. Her all-around score was 35.30.

DeCicco, a second grader at St. Christopher School, competed in the 6-8 age division. Her bar routine was her best of the season, earning her an 8.95, and her floor routine also was solid for a score of 8.6.
