Annual music scholarship competition set

The Friends Committee of the Amherst Symphony Orchestra and the Williamsville Rotary Foundation will host their annual musical Scholarship Competition, with auditions being held Saturday, March 3, at the Ascension Lutheran Church, 4640 Main St. in Snyder.

The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a deserving high school senior musician who either attends school in Amherst or is a child or grandchild of an ASO member.

Applications may be picked up from high school music teachers or by writing to the ASO/Scholarship at P.O. Box 1083 Williamsville, NY 14231. For more information, call 836-5660. The application deadline is Feb. 3. This marks the 22nd year of the scholarship competition.
