present world premiere

Club to be offered

A basic plastic-model-builders class for youths 5 to 14 will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays Jan. 20 through Feb. 24 at the Harlem Road Community Center, 4255 Harlem Road in Amherst. Registration and supply fee is $12 for Amherst residents and $17 for nonresidents. Checks may be made payable to the Amherst Youth Board by Wednesday, Jan. 17. Registration is limited. Vegas Night

St. Mary's of Swormville will host its annual Vegas Night from 7 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Feb. 10 at 6919 Transit Road in East Amherst. Games will include Blackjack, Money Wheels, Best Hand Poker, Over/Under and Beat the Dealer. In addition, there will be Bell Jar tickets, 50/50 raffles and a liquor and lottery raffle. Proceeds will benefit the school's athletic program and new books for the library. Admission is $10 and includes pizza, snacks, beer, wine and pop. Tickets are available at the door. AAA to offer driver

education classes

AAA Western and Central New York will present a 2007 winter session "Licensed to Learn" driver education class on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. The class will be held at the travel and insurance center, 100 International Drive in Amherst. The first session is slated to run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, and ends Tuesday, Feb. 13. In addition, class participants will be required to attend one five-hour Sunday classroom session from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Jan. 28 or Feb. 11.
