All about team for Sweet Home girls bowling
by PATRICK J. NAGY Reporter

A collective team effort has lifted Sweet Home's girls bowling team to a 4-0 start.

Sweet Home has defeated Williamsville South twice, 4-3, and 5-2, and beaten Hamburg and Iroquois by 4-3 decisions.

"None of the matches have really been in doubt even though they've been mostly 4-3," said Sweet Home coach Jim Russo.

Russo said his "B" team has come up huge in all of the Lady Panthers' wins. "B" anchor Margaret Wahl is averaging 161. Charlene Cinelli (157), Ashley Brant (161) and Kaylee Kaminski (149) have also bowled well on "B".

"To be honest, our "B" team has kind of been saving us," said Russo. "Our "A" team has been close then our "B" team has been pulling out the matches."

Amanda Page leads the Sweet Home "A" team with a 188 average. Against South on Jan. 3, Page had a high game of 243 and 685 series. Gina Picone (161) and Jill Nasisi (159) have also bowled well on "A."

"I have nine girls averaging between 149-188," said Russo.

Russo is still looking for a set "A" and "B" team.

"I don't have a set 'A' and 'B' team," said Russo. "The third and fourth girl we always kind of alternate and move around. Some are on 'B' one week then on 'A' the next."

Sweet Home bowls West Seneca East at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Wimbledon Lanes.

"I think we're starting to peak," said Russo. "Some of the girls bowl in a junior league at Manor II and they're starting to bowl a lot better."
