Robert G. Stillwell, retired Clarence High teacher, math chair
Robert G. Stillwell, 82, of Williamsville, a long-time retired mathematics teacher and chair of the Clarence Central High School mathematics department, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he attended Brooklyn College and received his bachelor's and master's degrees in mathematics and science from Teachers College, Columbia University.

An Army veteran, Mr. Stillwell fought during World War II at the Battle of the Bridge at Remagen in Germany.

Mr. Stillwell taught mathematics at Clarence High School for 38 years.

He was president and treasurer of the Association of Math teachers of New York State. He was also member and treasurer of the Dachshund Club of Greater Buffalo and was their specialty show chair. His family said he loved, bred and trained Dachshunds.

Mr. Stillwell is survived by his wife of 46 years, the former June Ulrich.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11 at the (Amherst Chapel) Amigone Funeral Home.
