Amherst Girls Softball accepting registration

Amherst Girls Softball is accepting registrations for the 2006-07 season.

Girls from grades prekindergarten to 12 who reside in the Town of Amherst or in the Williamsville Central, Amherst Central or Sweet Home Central School Districts are eligible.

AGS is the largest softball program in Amherst, with more than 700 girls participating last year. AGS stresses fun and learning, especially with younger girls, with an emphasis on positive encouragement regardless of physical ability.

Roster space is limited and registration cannot be guaranteed. Girls with special abilities have the opportunity to try out for age-appropriate independent travel teams (through age 23). Last season, the Lightning travel teams distinguished themselves in state, regional and national competition.
