Pee Wee White Sabres stay unbeaten

The Amherst Pee Wee White Sabres remained unbeaten with a 7-1 win over the Stars.

Dylan Scinta led the way for the White Sabres with a hat trick while Angelo Caruso added two goals. White Sabre defenseman Dan Demeester scored his first goal of the year and chipped in two assists while goalie Sean Martin had another excellent game in net.

The Stars scored the first goal of the game when Ryan Shanahan scored with an assist to Tom Krasinski.

Less than a minute later, Scinta tied the game at 1-1 unassisted. Late in the first, Scinta scored again on a bullet of a wrist shot. Nick Carrubba was credited with the assist as the White Sabres led, 2-1, at the end of the period.

The second period saw the White Sabres score five unanswered goals. Angelo Caruso scored his first of the game with assists from Kyle Zurak and Demeester to make it 3-1 White Sabres. Adam Russell then joined the party as he and Caruso assisted on Demeester’s goal to make it 4-1. Russell added a goal of his own on another Demeester assist for a 5-1 lead.

The White Sabres weren’t through. Caruso scored his second of the game with assists from Russell and Demeester and the White Sabres blew it open, leading 6-1 after two periods of play. Dan Cinelli, John Moore, and Max Fenter added a lot of hustle for the White Sabres, who were flying high going into the third period.

In the third, it was hats off to Scinta who netted his third goal of the game to put the White Sabres ahead, 7-1. Blake Carson assisted.

The defense did the rest. Tyler Cassleman, Gabe Feuerstein were solid on the blue line and they got plenty of help with back checking of Brendan Mazurek and Max Sherman.

The White Sabres (6-0-3) will start 2007 trying to make it ten games without a loss.
