Flyers continue winning streak, post 6-2 victory The Squirt Flyers brought holiday excitement to the Pepsi Center on December 23 with a 6-2 win over the Rangers. The Flyers’ Eric Bailey scored the first goal for his team on a superb breakaway late in the first period. The second period saw lots of tussling over the puck as the game flew up and down the ice. The Flyers’ stepped up their offense in the second period when Trevor Shaw’s persistence paid off with the team’s second goal. Strong play continued by the Flyers when Nicholas Schiappa sliced a low shot into the Rangers’ net for the team’s third goal. The third period became even more intense when the Flyers’ Austin Ballard skated past a Rangers’ defenseman to make a wrist shot which sailed past the goalie’s shoulder and lit up the scoreboard for a fourth Flyers’ goal. Not to be outdone, Flyers’ Connor Mulvey delivered the fifth goal for his team with an awesome rebound shot. The Flyers’ Schiappa scored again for his team when he took advantage of a great pass from his teammate, Gregory Sibick. Outstanding offensive plays were made by the Flyers’ Anthony Macchia, Peter Masters, Mark Christy and Amir Gulati. Goalies for each team played outstanding. |
