ATM feeling generous during holiday season

Thursday, Dec. 21
• A clerk at a Hopkins Road business reported that a man swore at her after she told him he couldn’t have his dog in the store.
An ATM machine was reportedly malfunctioning on Sheridan Drive and was giving out money.
A Hummingbird Lane resident called police after being locked out of the house and in a hurry to catch an airplane.
On Main Street, a complainant said a green van ran over her 15-year-old son’s foot. A Fed-Ex employee witnessed the accident.
Friday, Dec. 22
A group of 12-15 youths were running down Edgewater Drive taking down Christmas lights and decorations. Nothing appeared to be disturbed, and the youths were not around when police arrived.
A Robin Road resident reported that a burglary occurred while the complainant was asleep. Beer, liquor and coffee were missing.
A welfare check was requested on Niagara Falls Boulevard after a man stopped at a business for directions and was having a hard time seeing after recent eye surgery.
Police were called to a Niagara Falls Boulevard about a disagreement over a repair bill. All parties were advised it was a civil manner.
Saturday, Dec. 23
A car struck an abandoned building on Old Niagara Falls Boulevard.
An intoxicated woman called 911 seven times from a Surrey Run home and became irate during the calls. She said she was going to bed for the evening and was advised to call for emergencies only.
Police responded to a road rage report on Niagara Falls Boulevard in which one heavyset man reportedly threatened the complainant with a golf club. Police advised both sides and reported that no golf club was displayed.
Sunday, Dec. 24
A chimney fire was reported at a High Court house. It was caused by wrapping paper being burned in the fireplace and becoming stuck in the chimney.
An alarm went off on Daven Drive. The suspect was a “kitty cat” that was in the residence.
Police were called for a welfare check on a man walking along the creek on North Forest Road. There was no cause for concern. He was just visiting his mother at a nursing home.
A person was reported on Brenridge Drive for driving down the street and checking inside every mailbox. Police reported that it was the “paper guy.”
Monday, Dec. 25
Several cars on Levin Lane were egged.
Amherst police assisted in a fight involving 300 people at the Regal Theaters on Transit Road in Lancaster.
A barefoot man was going door to door on North Ivyhurst Road asking for Tylenol. He was returned home by the patrol.
A Transit Road business manager requested a premise check after receiving two missed calls on her cell phone from the business phone. She said the business was supposed to be closed.
Tuesday, Dec. 26
Criminal mischief was reported on Niagara Falls Boulevard when a man found his car keyed and the locks glued. He reported having a confrontation with a man in a black Blazer over parking spots but had no other information.
A girl, 9 or 10 years old, was running in and out of traffic on Sheridan Drive. She was gone when police arrived.
A large Christmas tree was obstructing Millersport Highway.
A Transit Road business manager reported that someone was dumping garbage in the business’s Dumpster and was throwing garbage around the lot.
Wednesday, Dec. 27
A full-size white van was cruising a lot on Maple Road, and someone reported it to police.
A small man, approximately 50 years old, was growling and acting strangely on Niagara Falls Boulevard.
A baby Jesus was taken from a manger scene on Main Street.
A Candlewood Lane resident was concerned that a homeless family of four was living in the woods. They had been seen going back there for three days. Police did not locate the suspicious people.
