Paul F. Fritton, retired vice president of Cannon Design

Paul F. Fritton, 70, of Williamsville, retired director of personnel and vice president of Cannon Design, Inc., died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, in Buffalo General Hospital.

A native of Lockport, he was an alumnus of St. Mary’s School, DeSales High School, Catholic University of America, George Washington University, both of Washington, D.C., a Canisius College summa cum laude graduate and the University of Buffalo, where he did graduate work for his Ph.D.

He was a veteran of the Army Security Agency, the services electronic intelligence branch.

Mr. Fritton was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Buffalo Assembly, and former commander of the Color Corps and a recipient of the Frank Chapin Award for outstanding service and dedication to the Buffalo Assembly of the Knights of Columbus.

He was a volunteer for the St. Vincent de Paul Society and involved in church activities at SS. Peter & Paul Church, Williamsville, as usher, lector, choir, Parish Council and Holy Name Society member and president of the latter. He also gave presentations on the Holy Shroud of Turin at area parishes and was also a member of Una Voce Buffalo.

Mr. Fritton was a member of Phi Kappa Fraternity, Society for Technical Writers and Publishers and the American Association for Advancement of Science, both of Washington, D.C., and a member of the Society for Technical Communication.

Mr. Fritton is survived by his wife, the former Josephine Molenda.

A Latin Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Dec. 23 from St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church.
