Village holiday contest winners named

Cherie O’Donoghue of Amherst, left, was chosen as the winner of the $500 shopping spree and presented her certificate by Joan Ess of Alexandra Gifts and chairman of “A Season in the Village” Holiday Walk presented by the Williamsville Business Association.

The Williamsville Business Association recently chose the winner of the $500 “A Season in the Village” Holiday Walk shopping spree.

Cherie O’Donoghue of Amherst was presented the $500 gift certificate from Joan Ess, chairman of the association’s holiday event. Ess’s business is Alexandra Gifts located in the Walker Center.

O’Donoghue entered for the contest at The Wine Room located at the corner of Mill and Main streets. It was one of several locations throughout the village taking entries.

In part with the Holiday Walk, the association also held a Holiday Window Decorating contest for the best decorated building.

First place was awarded to Di Camillo Baking Company, 5329 Main St. and second place was given to Munroe Chiropractic, P.C., 6035 Main St. The businesses won a night accommodations in the Hampton Inn at Williamsville or a $350 village gift basket.

Honorable mentions were awarded to Marty’s Formal Wear, 5548 Main St.; Sweet Jenny’s, 5990 Main St.; Vern Stein Fine Art, 5747 Main St., and Mastic Spa, 5562 Main St.
