All the world’s a stage for A.R. Gurney premiere

The Kavinoky Theatre is presenting a Buffalo premiere by A.R. Gurney when “The Fourth Wall” is performed Friday, Jan. 5, through Feb. 4.

In this love letter to the theatre, Gurney uses the stage to explore, quite comically, our place in the world today. Set in the living room of a contemporary, upper-class, Buffalo, N.Y., couple, the author sharpens his wit on such topics as cola wars, politics, and even the very audiences who attend plays.

Directed by David Lamb, “The Fourth Wall” features Steve Cooper, Lisa Ludwig, Christina Rausa and Paul Todaro.

Performances are at 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 4 and 8 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays at D’Youville College, 320 Porter Ave., Buffalo. Tickets are $12-$32 and are available by calling 829-7668 or by visiting www.kavinoky.com.
