Scholarships available for student musicians

The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Volunteer Foundation and the Buffalo Chamber Music Society have again combined their application and audition process for their independent 2007 scholarships.

The Volunteer Foundation “Eleanor V. Millonzi” $5,000 and $1,000 scholarships, partially funded by the Ralph C. Wilson Foundation, and the Chamber Music Society’s “Silverman” $1,000 scholarships (up to three this year) are available for Erie and Niagara County high school seniors planning to major in music at any college or university in the fall of 2007.

Applications for this year, including audition tapes, must be postmarked by Feb. 1. Further information and application forms must be obtained by calling the Volunteer Foundation at 885-0204 or online at www.bpo.org, click on “meet BPO” then “Volunteer Foundation.”
