      David L. Dempsey, 77, of Lockport, formerly of Clarence, died on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 at Northgate Health Care Facility. Born in Buffalo, Mr. Dempsey was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

June Edith Ziemniak, retired school nurse
      June Edith Ziemniak, 87, of Amherst, died on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007 in her home. Born in Rochester, she graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in 1937 and from the Highland Hospital School of Nursing, where she began her nursing career, in 1940. She was also a school nurse for the Rochester City School District from 1966 to 1985.

      CHIARELLO, James E. Sr., 67, of Amherst, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007; survived by his wife, Mary Ann; one son, James E. Jr.; two daughters, Nicole Guyon and Amy Rojek; and four grandchildren. Services were held on Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Newman Center, Amherst. Arrangements were made by Amigone Funeral Home, Inc.

      SWEET, Eleanor E., of Amherst, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2007; wife of the late James A.; survived by two sons, Thomas and Douglas; two daughters, Alison Popielasz and Lisbeth; and seven grandchildren. Services were held Friday, Sept. 28 at Christ United Methodist Church, Snyder. Arrangements were made by the Harry A. Wedekindt Funeral Home.
