Sprinkler has resident in hot water with neighbor (Editor's note: The Bee's police blotter is a sampling of unusual, sometimes humorous calls received by the police department. It is not intended to be a complete record of all incidents reported.) Friday, June 29 • A Mapleview Drive resident reported three teen males were walking around, possibly casing the area. The teens in question hadn't been in the neighborhood before, according to the complainant. • Youths on Derby Road were wrapping a car in cellophane wrap. • A female who drove with a wallet on top of her car was returning to Kensington Avenue to see if it was on the side of the street. • On Main Street a man was reported for screaming at his dog. Reportedly when he went to pay for gas, the dog "did something inside the car." Police were unable to locate the man in question. Saturday, June 30 • A Firebird and Camaro were reportedly drag racing on 1-990 headed south. The complainant estimated they were driving 100 miles per hour. • Police were called to a North Westfield Road home about youths shooting off fireworks. When patrol arrived the "fireworks were all used up" and the area was quiet. • Police responded to the Boulevard Mall on Niagara Falls Boulevard about a man who was no longer welcome on the property. He was waiting for a cab to go to Dunkirk, but he didn't have any money. • On Main Street a raccoon was stuck in a trash container. Sunday, July 1 • On Sweet Home Road, a group of five or six youths was behind the school shooting off fireworks and "being up to no good." A second caller about the same incident complained they were causing a ruckus. • A Farber Lane resident reported that a man dressed in all white urinated on the complainant's bush. • A Darwin Drive resident called police about a neighbor who was watering the lawn and the water was hitting the complainant's lawn and convertible. • A Main Street store had a six-pack of beer stolen by a white man described as being in his 40s and 5 feet, 10 inches tall. He was not located. • The outside trophy case was broken at a concession stand on Wehrle Drive. It has been an ongoing problem. Monday, July 2 • A Noel Drive resident complained that the neighbor's sprinkler was on and was getting her driveway wet. She didn't want to wait for police but wanted them to tell the neighbor to move the sprinkler. When police arrived neither party was home, the sprinkler was on but the water wasn't hitting the driveway in question. • On North Forest Road a man flagged down patrol to complain about clogged urinals in the men's room facilities at the park. • A West Summerset Lane resident reportedly refused to give back a ball to the youths next door because when it bounced into his yard it damaged some plants. He would give it back after the parents were advised. Tuesday, July 3 • A Shade Tree Court resident found a rat in the swimming pool. • On Fennec Lane a resident returned from being out of town to find feces on the front porch, as well as smeared on the door handle. • On Main Street helium tanks had been left in front of the bank. • A Millersport Highway store employee reported that a customer came in with a fake ID, then took off when the clerk still had it.
