Amherst students inducted into National Honor Society
      Sacred Heart Academy recently had 43 students inducted into the National Chapter of the National Honor Society. Sacred Heart Academy had 22 seniors and 21 juniors selected by a faculty committee led by Martha Horohoe, foreign language teacher at the Eggertsville school. In order to be selected into the society, students must maintain at least a 3.

      Heim Elementary School students (from left to right) Chelsea Bangert, Sean Leach, Courtney Bangert and Claire Marzec took a trip back in time, dressing in 1950s-style clothing for an ice cream social held recently at the school. Families from the school were treated to ice cream and encouraged to dress in clothing from the decade.

      Designing a machine that flies on its own and can land with any amount of accuracy takes years of schooling, training and hard work. Or does it? A Destination Imagination team consisting of seven sixth-graders from Transit Middle School made it work.
