Committee seeks planting volunteers
Those participating in the Village of Williamsville's annual Beautification Committee project will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 19 at the triangle at Main and Evans streets.
Volunteers are being sought to plant flowers in garden beds around the village, in Island Park, along the memory trail, around the Village Hall and meeting house and in Garrison Park.
Coffee will be provided at the Main and Evans location, and then volunteers will proceed to the various locations around the village. The event will last until the planting is completed.
"We're also looking for additional people to plant flowers in the entryway gardens," said Village Trustee Brian Geary, who is the Village Board's liaison to the Beautification Committee. "So it's the more the merrier."
Sponsors for the project include the Glen Park Tavern, Creekview, the Forest Stream Garden Club and Northern Lights Landscaping.
"Our sponsorship has been very successful this year," Geary said.
