Votes should not be taken at close of public hearings
      The Amherst Town Board made a smart decision Monday to table the housing complex proposed for Rensch Road. It's about time members of municipal boards chose to delay their votes, instead of taking action minutes after a public hearing. Many questions came to the minds of each board member following the public hearing.

Not all comebacks warrant applause
      Our region was "treated" to a pair of comebacks recently, one questionable, the other unconscionable. When Buffalo heavyweight Joe Mesi flattened 40-year-old George Linberger in under two minutes last week, it was one more step in an interrupted personal dream shared by sincere well-wishers who have embraced the personable pugilist as the region's own personal Rocky Balboa.

      The Town of Amherst, with a population of 117,272, has real estate worth $9.2 billion; which is comprised of homes ($5.5 billion), businesses ($3.5 billion), and utilities and special districts ($0.19 billion).

Library has plan to continue service
      Thanks to The Amherst Bee on the excellent editorial in support of the Williamsville Library. This newspaper has always been a leader in bringing forth matters of concern to the community. I would like to assure readers that a plan for Williamsville Library is in place. The community and the Amherst Public Library had two years to consider the situation that has been so critical to Amherst.
